Summer Days

Chimney Install Day
We planned to install a wood-burning stove in the cottage in December, but due to many factors, we could not get it in before the new year. The weather cooperated this week and today the roof got a hole cut in it and the chimney went in without a glitch.

Christmas Snowstorm
It looks like we will be having a white Christmas. We got a huge dump of snow in the past 24 hours here in Norikura Kogen and woke to a winter wonderland. There is more snow forecasted for the next few days and we are looking forward to a white Christmas.

Some big roots
As I started excavating and grading the land, I have come across some huge roots from trees that were cut down about 8-10 years ago. The machine is powerful but the big roots give this little Kubota a run for its money. I am adjusting the ground level around the house and tryhing to expose…

Mount Norikura – Echo Line Open
Today was opening day for Norikura Echo Line and shuttle busses began running from Norikura Kogen to Tatamidaira this morning. I spent the day trekking up and around Mt. Norikura with a few guys from Columbia Sportswear and Matsumoto City. Beautiful weather to be outside enjoying God’s wonderful creation.

Frozen Azusa River
Snaped a few photos on my way home from Matsumoto today. The Azusa reservoir looks cool with all the ice and snow on it.
