Today marked a special milestone for our family as we took our last mountain bike ride of the year which also happened to be our first mountain bike ride as a family. I have been taking my kids for bike rides for years but it usually ends up only working out to ride with the bigger kids or the little kids so we had not ridden as a family until today.
This year a system of public mountain bike trails officially opened in Norikura Kogen. You can read about Norikura Community Mountain Bike Trails on the official homepage (Japanese only).
One of the other new features added to Norikura Kogen this summer was a pump track and our boys have been enjoying that since it opened.
A friend once told me that “a family who plays together stays together”. I think there is wisdom in what he said and we are looking forward to more family rides in the years to come.
