My wife loves to bake and cook and would probably sleep in the kitchen if she could. She loves to experiment with ingredients and it often looks more like a lab project than food much of the time but it sure does taste good.
I learned to make scones from my wife. The recipe is simple and a freshly baked scone with a cup of coffee is actually a great breakfast.
Here is the recipe
- Flour – 250g
- Sugar – 4 tablespoons
- Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
- baking soda3g
- Unsalted butter 60g
Mix the dry ingredients first and then cut in the butter. Finally, add the milk or yogurt and form gently until the dough comes together but try not to knead.
Flatten the dough to the thickness of your hand, cut it into triangles, and place it it on a baking sheet. Put them into a preheated (200C) oven and bake for 15-20min.
